Easy Tools for Creating Word Search Puzzles

Word search puzzles are great for reinforcing new vocabulary words, science terms, body parts, colors, spelling words, people and places in a history lesson, etc. And they are fun!

The trouble is, they aren't always so much fun to create. The link below - to a posting on the MakeUseOf.com web site, gives you ten different sites for creating word searches. Each site offers a slightly different tool with different options for how difficult to make the puzzle, how large, what shape, etc. Choose the site that works best for you.

And give your kids a word search!

  1. I enjoy word searches and when I taught Language Arts and Social Studies I used to pick a student to create a word search for that particular week. The student would turn in a blank wordsearch and clue sheet and an answer key. It was really engaging for all involved. Thanks for reminding me of using this.

  2. Hi Emil,
I had to try them out at once. I think it will be a great way to create exercises for my swedish lessons. Thanks for the tips!
    Best regards
