If you enjoy watching videos on your Mac - and who doesn't? - then you'll definitely want to get Perian. Perian is a free download and it will install as a Preference Pane in your Mac. And then...it just works! If you open the Preference Pane, there are astonishingly few options. But with Perian sitting in the background, Quicktime will work so much better and will be able to play a much wider variety of video formats - particularly those AVI formats that come from your Windows-using friends and from our Flip video cameras.
